Everyone told me I would love my first pledge retreat and that it was full of surprises. I did not know how much fun I would have or how much I would bond with my fellow pledges and brothers until I got there.
The night included many challenges where we were divided into two teams to see who could win these competitions. The competitions taught me a lot
Barbara's secret talent is making raps
Carl and Reese can make really funny duck faces
Group challenges can make everyone more comfortable around each other
And I learned to expect the unexpected after our final challenge, the awkward family photo challenge.
After our challenges I had fun with the brothers playing Murderer. Especially when I enjoyed my time in Jorge (the jail/morgue in murderer). Not only was this experience super fun but it was also hilarious and I felt that I really bonded with some of the brothers and my fellow pledges.
Saturday was also fun. Although I had less than five hours of sleep I was ready to go do some service. I tested my fate by climbing on roofs and cleaning them out. I also got some pretty cool pictures out of it. Later on I took over wheelbarrow duty and helped everyone finished our service project.
After our project was finished we went to Perkins to have one last fellowship event before our ride home.
This whole experience was super fun for me and I am so glad that I got to bond closer with my brothers. I cannot wait to be intiated as a member of APO.
