THON Dodgeball by Kira Strande

“If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball” – Dodgeball (the movie)
On December 9th, I laced up my kicks and put on my all-black uniform for what other
than… THON Dodgeball! Myself, along with 11 other brothers channeled our inner
athlete and played dodgeball at the multisport complex all FTK! The tournament was
huge and diverse. There was a whole range of teams from club baseball to APO to
ROTC. We arrived with two teams and to our dismay… our first match was against
each other! In the spirit of fellowship, we were the right amount of competitiveness and
respectful of each other and ultimately the winner. Sadly, my team did not win but our
other team advanced far into the competition! The action on every court was great and
all you could hear were the loud screams and shouts of teams rejoicing because of their
astonishing victory. The time I got to spend with my brothers was awesome and I hope
another sports tournament comes around again soon.
